Dr. Helen Giang
Dr. Giang is a Licensed Psychologist. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Alliant International University in San Diego, California. She completed an APA Accredited Predoctoral Internship at the Indian Health Care Resource Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, an outpatient clinic providing medical and behavioral health care to the Indian community. Additionally, she completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Sutter Center for Psychiatry and Sutter Medical Center of Sacramento in Sacramento, California. At the Sutter hospitals, Dr. Giang worked with individuals with severe mental illness, providing crisis intervention. She also worked with children on inpatient medical units.
Dr. Giang has conducted psychological and psychoeducational assessments for diagnostic clarification of learning disabilities, attention difficulties, and mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. In addition, she has considerable experience working with children with autism, providing therapeutic interventions. Prior to joining our team, Dr. Giang was a psychologist at the San Diego Regional Center conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate young children for Autism Spectrum Disorders and Intellectual Disabilities.
Currently, Dr. Giang serves as a staff psychologist at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, where she works closely with children, adolescents, and families who have cancer, blood disorders, and chronic kidney disease. She utilizes a range of treatment approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Her clinical interests include working with children, especially aged zero to five, that exhibit behavioral difficulties, anxiety, or depression.
