Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Sentiero. She brought leadership, management, and organizational experience to Sentiero. Her primary role is to oversee the logistics and operations of the group. She effortlessly develops and implements systems, policies, and procedures that ensure the facilitation of growth within the important cultural context of the team.
Amy has over 10 years of experience in direct practice and has worked in a variety of settings throughout her career including residential, inpatient, crisis intervention, outpatient, and holistic treatment facilities. She earned her Master in Social Work from San Diego State University and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers State University. She has extensive training working with adults that have experienced homelessness, severe mental illness, trauma, and substance use.
Amy has shown her dedication and passion for helping others overcome challenges and regain a sense of purpose in their life. She was nominated for Clinician of the Year and was the Program Supervisor while working for non-profit mental health organizations funded by San Diego County. She is experienced with individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, behavioral health and diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and case management.
Amy’s clinical interests include working with adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental health disorders and co-occurring substance use disorders. She specializes in solution-focused and skill building treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Moral Reconation (MRT), and Harm Reduction.
